Dean Giem is the business manager of Security First Insurance Agency, a role that allows him to utilize a wide array of his talents. Responsible for the IT innovation, training, human resources, community service and product development, Dean works to provide a level of service to clients and the community in addition to the staff and vendor partners of Security First Insurance Agency through fostering authentic relationships.

After working in retail management for 6 years with a fortune 500 office supply company, Dean moved into the insurance industry in 2000 and learned the business under a direct writer from the Mid-West. Restricted by the limitations of the direct writer model, he later moved to the independent insurance agency channel and joined Security First Insurance Agency in 2007 where he continues to build a client base and partnerships to offer more than a premium and a billing statement.

With a passion for the insurance industry and risk management, Dean not only carries insurance licenses in multiple states, he has obtained the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and is currently pursuing his designation as Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Chartered Property Causalty Underwriter (CPCU). Dean is also the President of the local Rocky Mountain NetVU Users Group, a group that offers resources, training and dialog within the users of Vertafore products and systems. In addition, he has also recently accepted the role of Member At Large with the Executive Board of NetVU.

As well as being a champion of the insurance and risk management business, Dean is a Colorado native with three grown sons and one granddaughter. He is a lifelong learner who enjoys the sport of hockey, business development and travel.
