Personal Lines Account Manager

The Position:  You are critical to the success of our personal lines department and the agency as a whole. Description of Work:

New Business:

  • Assist producers and team mates in development of new accounts.
  • Gather application information, drivers list, vehicle list, loss runs, narrative, and submit to appropriate markets.
  • Prepare proposals from information provided by producer, marketer and carrier quotes.
  • Bind coverage per agency binding authority with various carriers or with prior approval from E&S markets.
  • Prepare binders, fee agreements, finance agreements, and invoices.
  • Check new business policies for accuracy against applications and proposal.
  • Ensure policies issue per agency standard.

Renewal Business:

  • Assist in monitoring renewal deadlines for assigned accounts.
  • Review renewals with producer per agency standard.
  • Complete renewal applications utilizing Vertafore AMS360 management system and verify accuracy of information.
  • Submit applications to markets for quote based on agency standard, producer and client request.
  • Obtain additional information needed by carriers to provide quotes.
  • Bind coverage per agency binding authority with various carriers or with prior approval from E&S markets.
  • Check renewal policies for accuracy against expiring terms.
  • Contact assigned book of business annually.

Customer Service

  • Issue ID cards.
  • Answer telephone and provides basic customer service including information on billing, coverage, audits, and change requests.
  • Submit requested information to carriers.
  • Prepare bills for midterm transactions issued by carriers and follows up to ensure payment, additionally assists producer in resolution of discrepancies.
  • Verify all premium invoices, including policies and binders.
  • Assist production unit in special projects related to sales and/or servicing.
  • Update Vertafore AMS360 management system with all necessary database changes and utilize this system to produce change requests and suspense items in accordance to department timeframes.
  • Data entry, including endorsements, certificates and basic client information from producer or customer.
  • Prepare letters of explanation to insured to accompany policy documentation.
  • Follow up on late payments from customers and cancelation notices from finance companies.
  • Follow up on miscellaneous suspense items.
  • Other duties as required.

Required Skills

  • High School diploma or general education degree (college education preferred)
  • 2-4 years of experience and/or training in personal lines of insurance (independent agency experience preferred)
  • Colorado Property and Casualty License
  • CISR and/or CIC Designation(s) preferred
  • Experience with AMS360, PL Rating, Microsoft Office Suite
