Commercial Lines Client Advisor

The Position:  You are critical to the success of our commercial lines department and the agency as a whole. Description of Work:

New Business:

  • Assist production unit in development of new account.
  • Gathers application information, drivers list, vehicle list, loss runs, work comp mod sheet, narrative, prepare loss summaries on all lines and submits to markets.
  • Prepare proposals from information provided by producer, marketer and quotes.
  • Utilize word processing for proposals, certificates and ordering ID cards.
  • Bind coverage per agency binding authority with various carriers or with prior approval from E&S markets.
  • Prepare binders, fee agreements, finance agreements, and invoices.
  • Check new business policies for accuracy against applications and proposal.

Renewal Business:

  • Assist in monitoring renewal deadlines for assigned accounts.
  • Review renewals with producer.
  • Ensure customer information for renewals is received 60 days prior to expiration by gathering loss information, correspondence, work comp mod sheets, narrative, driver information, vehicle schedule and prepares loss summaries on all lines. Sends clients holder list at renewal for update.
  • Complete renewal applications utilizing Vertafore AMS360 management system and verifies accuracy of information.
  • Submit application to markets for quotes.
  • Obtain additional information needed by carriers to provide quotes.
  • Prepare renewal proposals from information provided by the producer and carrier(s).
  • Bind coverage per agency binding authority with various carriers or with prior approval from E&S markets.
  • Prepare binders, fee agreements, finance agreements, and invoices.
  • Check renewal policies for accuracy against applications and proposal.

Customer Service

  • Issue ID cards.
  • Process certificates.
  • Answer telephone and provides basic customer service including information on billing, coverage, audits, and change requests.
  • Submit requested information to carriers.
  • Prepare bills for midterm transactions issued by carriers and follows up to ensure payment, additionally assists producer in resolution of discrepancies.
  • Verify all premium invoices, including policies and binders.
  • Assist production unit in special projects related to sales and/or servicing.
  • Update Vertafore AMS360 management system with all necessary database changes and utilize this system to produce change requests and suspense items in accordance to department timeframes.
  • Data entry, including endorsements, audits, certificates and basic client information from producer or customer.
  • Prepare letters of explanation to insured to accompany policy documentation.
  • Follow up on late payments from customers and cancelation notices from finance companies.
  • Follow up on suspense items.
  • Other duties as required.

Desired Skills

  • High School diploma or general education degree, college education preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience and/or training in commercial lines of insurance
  • experience with commercial lines rating systems
  • Colorado Property and Casualty License
  • Experience with AMS360 preferred
