COMPANY PROFILE Security First Insurance Agency was developed in September 2004 out of a dream that Tim Van Denend and Jeff Krommendyk had to own and operate an agency of their own. They were joined by Les Hay who also saw a need to provide a property and casualty insurance outlet to his well established client base that he had been providing personal financial and employee benefit services to. The agency grew rapidly as a result of Les’ current clients looking to this agency to satisfy their property and casualty needs and the sizable books of business that Tim and Jeff were able to roll into the agency as a result of 25 years combined experience in the industry. Steady growth continued regardless of the soft market due to Tim and Jeff’s commitment to pursuing new business which has given Security First a dept free financial foundation. Security First Insurance Agency has been built on the principles of integrity and commitment. We see ourselves as the bridge between the insurance companies we represent and our clients. We understand the importance of putting good clean business on the books with the carriers we represent and finding the best carriers to suit our client’s needs. We are committed to joining the two using integrity as our standard.
Personnel: Security First Insurance Agency consists of two agency principles, one other full time personal lines manager, three full time producers, two CSR’s and one agency billing/accountant specialist. Together they bring over 80 years of experience to serving our clients. Each of our staff members are licensed insurance professionals committed to serving our client’s needs. | Jeff holds a BBA from Davenport University and has been in the insurance industry since 1995. Jeff began his career with Sentry Insurance where he was a six time Sales Leader of the Year, Sales Representative of Distinction in 1999 and National Commercial Lines Top Performer of the Year in 2001. Jeff enjoys assisting his clients in assessing and managing their property and casualty needs while continuing to pursue professional designations through industry sponsored courses and seminars. | Tim Van Denend , Principal | Tim entered the insurance field in 1998 and has been successful in building a sizable book of personal and commercial clients. Tim specializes in commercial fleet and heavy transportation risks which was born from a 10 year career spent in this industry prior to entering the financial services business. Tim holds a bachelors degree in business and has received his CIC designation from the National Alliance. Tim and his family live in Centennial Colorado and is an avid outdoorsman. |
R. Dean Giem, Personal Lines Manager Dean entered the insurance industry in March of 2000 bringing 6 years of retail management and operations experience. He worked for a captive carrier for 7 years where he achieved Leader’s Trip status twice. Dean joined the staff of Security First Insurance Agency in August of 2007 with a focus on growing, developing, and managing the agency’s personal lines book of business. As a Colorado native Dean is actively involved with the community. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for JRL Foundation and volunteers as a youth hockey coach. We are excited about the experience and talents assembled and consider it as our greatest asset as we go forward in building this agency.
The Product: The product is multi faceted. The first element consists of the insurance companies we have available to write business in. Security First Insurance Agency will focus on placing solid business with fewer carriers rather than spreading small blocks of premium among many. We will be placing the exposure of our clients with companies that are A rated or higher by A.M. Best. These companies will have the ability of providing comprehensive coverage at a premium that is justified in the market. The second element of the product is the agency. The people in the agency often play a larger role in the over all product than the actual underwriting companies. The principles of this agency bring over 25 years of knowledge and experience in the insurance industry. They are also dedicated to the service of each client. They have carefully assembled a team of support staff to provide each customer with the courtesy and professional service clients expect. The partnership between this agency and the insurance companies they represent will make up a product the industry will be proud of.
